Do you sell all this jewellery in your shops?

All the jewellery on our website is available in our shops. But we do have a lot more in our shops than we could possibly put on our website. So, if you do live near any of our stores - in Barnes SW13, Farnham, Epsom and St Albans - you might like to drop in and see an even wider range. A map and opening times for each shop can be found in Contact Us.

How do I look after my jewellery?

For information about the care of precious metals, pearls, and gemstones see our Care Guide.

Where does your jewellery come from?

All of our jewellery is hand-made by craftspeople with years of experience and training and it is all hallmarked in the UK at the London Assay Office. We design much of our collection ourselves, make many of our own pieces, and have others made by suppliers with whom we have been working for many years. We personally source all the gemstones for our designs from our stone merchants in Jaipur, often having them cut to order and also buy directly from designer-makers in India and in Mexico - see About Us.

Can I have my purchase Gift Wrapped?

Absolutely. Just indicate that you require Gift-wrapping at the point of checkout. Everything will be beautifully wrapped and finished with a hand-tied bow. For more information see our Gift Guide.

Do you take commissions?

We do make gemstones necklaces, earrings and bracelets to order, and to fit your budget, to match special outfits and for weddings or other occasions. The normal timescale is within three weeks from commissioning to completion, subject to agreeing a design. It may be possible to source, or to have made, other items for you, but this could take longer. Please call us on 08456 808 925 to discuss your ideas or, for more information, see Bespoke.

What is the jewellery made from?

All of our jewellery is either sterling silver or 18ct/22ct gold, and is hallmarked at the London Assay Office. All our gemstones are real and you can find more information about precious stones and metals here.

What is Gold Vermeil?

This is sterling silver jewellery, Hallmarked at the London Assay Office, which has been coated with a layer of gold by an electrolytic process. It is sometimes referred to as gold plating, but gold plating can also mean just adding a gold colour to silver by a similar process. For more information about precious metals see our Jewellery Guide.

Where can I find some information about your gemstones?

Our resident gemmologist, Lucy Ellor, FGA has produced some fascinating information about many of our stones. For short and long versions and for information about how to look after gemstones see our Jewellery Guide.

Is all your jewellery hallmarked?

All our Gold is hallmarked, and all our silver over 7.78g weight is hallmarked, in accordance with UK and European Law. All of our hallmarking is done by the London Assay Office in the UK, and our precious metals are tested by the Assay office for purity. We are Associate Members of the National Association of Goldsmiths and more information on hallmarking can be found on their website.

What does a 925 stamp mean?

The 925 stamp found on much imported silver IS NOT a hallmark and is not a guarantee of standards or metal purity.

What is sterling silver?

See silver and sterling silver in the alphabetic listing in our Jewellery Guide.

Can I make a wish list?

Yes, it is very simple and we will email your list to up to 4 of your friends and family with a message from you - see Wishlists.

How do I return jewellery I do not want?

If you wish to return jewellery purchased online, you MUST contact us first for a returns reference. Jewellery must be returned (by mail to our offices - not to one of our shops) within 14 days, unworn, in its original condition and packaging, and with the security tag intact. For full details and instructions on how to make returns, please see our Returns Policy.
